Veterans’ Day
Steve England, past detachment commander of the American Legion, Post #10, joined us on 11/8 to share what the American Legion does to assist veterans and answer participants’ questions. The American Legion was formed in 1919 to assist WWI veterans and their families. Some areas they focus on are child welfare, supplies for homeless Vets, sponsoring Boys’ & Girls’ State (scholarships) and supporting Legion baseball teams, to name a few.
New Musician
Mark Harding made his first appearance at PI during November and we all enjoyed his performance. Mark plays guitar and sings a wide range of tunes that are great to dance to and sing-a-long with.
PI Welcomes New Volunteers
Jim Rubinate joins us a few times a month to lead bible study for those interested participants and also to share his keyboard and singing talents. Jim performs many of our favorite gospel songs and everyone enjoys singing along. Jim is shown here playing the keyboard during a recent visit and is joined by one of his fans, Paul.
Another new volunteer is Stacey Grandfield. Stacey is volunteering two days a week, sharing her time between kitchen duties and assisting the activities staff. She is a hard worker, friendly and always has a smile.
